Marilyn Van Houten
Senior Director of Planned Giving
Marilyn began her planned giving career at The Metropolitan Opera in 1996 and joined NYU Langone in 2004. She is vice president of the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York and served as programming chair and co-chair for the Planned Giving Day conference. She received a bachelor of music in piano performance from Hope College and her juris doctorate from Seton Hall University. An avid hiker, Marilyn also uses her spare time to pursue music.
Director of Planned Giving
Michelle is a senior planned giving professional with more than 25 years of experience at major New York City medical institutions. Prior to joining NYU Langone in 2010, she practiced planned giving and major gift fundraising at Columbia University Medical Center, Mount Sinai, Beth Israel Hospital, Visiting Nurse Service of New York, and Pace University. She is a graduate of Antioch College and began her career as an urban planner in New York City.
Director of Planned Giving
Michael joined NYU Langone in 2017. He has over ten years of experience in charitable gift planning at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Environmental Defense Fund, and American Civil Liberties Union. Michael serves on the board of the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York. Before his non-profit career, he held management and business development positions at IBM, E*TRADE, and Silicon Valley startups. He is a graduate of New York University and has a certificate in financial planning.
Manager of Planned Giving
Allison joined NYU Langone Medical Center in 2009. She has been a member of the planned giving team for the past two and a half years and focuses on the estate administration process. Prior to joining planned giving, Allison was Associate Director of Special Events for NYULMC. She managed all of the event logistics for NYU School of Medicine alumni, ranging from regional brunches to an annual alumni reunion weekend. In 2011 Allison received the Individual Excellence Award at NYULMC. She is currently pursuing her JD and LLM in taxation at New York Law School.
Planned Giving Coordinator
Allison joined NYU Langone in 2014. She received her bachelor of arts in sociology and Spanish literature & language from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Allison is responsible for conducting a full range of development activities that support the planned giving efforts. She is very excited to also be leading a new gift agreement process and contract repository for the Medical Center.
